What Is Pair Eyewear?
Pair Eyewear are magnetic glasses made up of a Base Frame which can also be worn on its own and a Top Frame. The Top Frame clips magnetically to the Base Frame using tiny magnets that are extremely lightweight, so your glasses rest lightly on your face.
The top frames attach to Pair’s glasses via little magnets in the top corners of the frames. There could be around 1% nickel composition in the magnets’ coating, and the company says to take note if you have a nickel sensitivity. Pair Eyewear glasses claim to be relatively affordable depending on the number of Top Frames ordered, lens customizations, and if you have a prescription.
Experience
There are a lot of negative online customer reviews which was the major factor that discouraged me from buying this product. Some of which include;
“Zero stars. From start to finish, I had to run around and there is no attempt made to offer as an appeasement. The product seems to be faulty as the tops dont always stay magnetized, and can pop off. If you have a top that is sunglasses, this would cause a problem because it will most likely get scratched. “They were unable to fulfill my prescription because they said it was too strong for single vision, but said I could get them made with progressive lenses (which I hate). But, this would cost an additional $199. I don’t understand why they could do this with progressive lenses, but not single vision. Seems like a ploy just to get more money. Very unhappy.” Rachel S
And it goes on like this. I was lucky I did a little research before going to buy, it would have been a disappointment.
Does It Really Work?
I wouldn’t recommend this Pair Eyewear. I have a very basic prescription and actually sent it to them twice to make sure they received it and after almost a month I received the glasses and the prescription is wrong. In theory I think they have a great concept but they don’t seem to be doing very well executing it.
The basic frame might seem good and sturdy. The prescription might be accurate. But they don’t stay on as well as you would like thereby making easy for you to lose them a lot.
Pros: Benefits
- It helps style your glasses.
- The toppers are flat and very thin, so they don’t add any bulk or weight when wearing it.
Cons: Disadvantages
- Horrible customer service
- There is no refund policy
- And they are too expensive for the quality they offer
How To Use
To adjust your Top Frames, all you need to do is to bend the Top Frames ever so slightly so they curve to fit onto the glasses.
Conclusion
The frames can pop off without much force if you accidentally bump them with your hand or drop them on the floor. While the magnets make your top frames effortless to swap out, that also means the frames can easily detach on accident. I do not recommend this product and I advice you save your money because it is not worth it.
